• This microwave does have a child feature lock, but it is only locks the control panel and only if activated. The feature is only active if you activate it, otherwise the microwave oven functions as a normal microwave oven.

• Hello Pam - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. Yes, this microwave has a control lock-out. To lock or unlock the controls, press and hold CANCEL/OFF for about three seconds. When the control panel is locked, LOC will be displayed to the extreme right. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
