QuestionI brought this brand new unit home today. When I push the door opener under the control pad, it makes a loud high pitched screeching sound, like the edges of the push button (rectangular) are rubbing against the framing. Is this normal? Fixable?

- Answer In my unit ( a month old) also it makes screeching sound. but it is not loud. May be over the time it will stop! ckapdimd

- Answer GE please stop putting so many buttons on your microwaves. I just want to set the power level and time. That’s it. Maybe a defrost button that is based on weight with a flip halfway through, but these buttons are ridiculous. We don’t live in the 60’s and this makes your microwaves come across as cheaper and more complicated not more luxurious and easy.

QuestionDoes this model GE 1.4 cf have inverter technology and sensor cooking? What's warranty period? Some have 1 yr, others have 5. What is the difference btw the JES models and PEB (profile) models? Specifically, what makes the PEB models more expensive?

- Answer Thank you for your interest in the GE microwave model JES1460DSWW. This microwave model does not offer Inverter technology. I would recommend the GE Profile countertop microwave oven JES2251SJ. It does offer Inverter technology. Model PEB7226SFSS has a built in option, JES2251 can only be installed on the counter. - Answer This microwave does have a child feature lock, but it is only locks the control panel and only if activated. The feature is only active if you activate it, otherwise the microwave oven functions as a normal microwave oven.

- Answer You set the cook time by pressing 'Time Cook' and then enter the number of seconds. It stops cooking when microwave beeps.
