“We are replacing a GE Spacemaker XL JVM1460WA and are considering the JVM3160DFWW. Will the new unit work on the existing wall bracket, use the same three mounting screws holes in the top cabinet and exhaust horizontally threw the top of the bracket.”

I doubt anyone can answer that question on this forum. That being said, We replaced a GE with this new GE and the brackets were different and the holes didn't match up. I'm not sure why they don't make certain things standard.

When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Whatever microwave you buy you will need to use the wall bracket that comes with it. They are not interchangeable unless it is the exact same unit. Most new microwaves only use 2 mounting screws to the top cabinet sometimes they line up sometimes they don't. You can get small plastic self stick disks at most home centers in the cabinet dept that can cover the extra whole. Just get one close to your interior cabinet color. Micro waves with vent fans have three positions for the air outlet it is easy to set for front , top or back . Most are 2 screws to access fan and then rotate to your desired location
