• No - but you can unscrew the control panel, locate the horseshoe shaped black speaker, bend it slightly up and then pop off one of its wires - rending the entire Microwave "silent" - forever! DISCLAIMER; THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY (IF THE MANUFACTURER DETECTS THAT YOU DID THIS) then again the standard warranty is only 1yr. So your microwave probably won't fail until after it expires anyways.

• If you hold down the "0" button for longer than 5 seconds, the word "MUTE" will appear and the beeps will be silenced. I just did it to mine.

• The manual for the JVM3160 covers 3 models. JVM3160, JVM3162, JNM3163. Of these, the manual says that the JVM3160 does not have the mute function. However, I just installed the JVM3160, held the zero button down for a few seconds and ta-da! the Mute. So, no need mess with the circuit board. Just press zero.

• It depends on the exact model, some button presses work with the newer versions, the JVM3160 version I have, you must open the panel and find the speaker and either disconnect it or muffle it with tape or foam. So tired of all the appliances in my house "beeping"... I get it, you are finished warming my coffee, chill out bro!

• A dollop of hot glue over the buzzer hole on the control board (WB56X29813) reduced the volume to a more acceptable level.
