In all installations we recommend using the mounting bracket and hardware that will be packaged with the new microwave. We have compared the style of bracket used for your existing model and the one included with the new model. They are completely different.-Vikki@GEAppliances

Answer

We replaced a microwave with the exact same model, and while the microwaves looked very similar, the new mounting bracket was different and had to be replaced. Also the holes in the top cuppard did not fully align and needed to be drilled at more of an angle. It wasn't as difficult as the initial install, but did require more than just lifting the old one out and putting the new one in. Good luck!
