- Answer No. Fingerprints do show. Just wipe with a damp microfiber cloth and fingerprints are gone.

- Answer Prevents heat build up inside unit during cooking. I may have read that somewhere in the user manual or quick gude.

QuestionI'm trying to replace discontinued Over the Range Frigidaire 1.5 cu ft FMV156DCB with GE - 1.6 Cu. Ft. OTR Microwave. The overall dimensions seem to match. Just concerned about the power being 950w vs new one at 1000w. Will this new one work?

- Answer I honestly can't recommend because customer service screwed up my order. I was told it was compatible to this model... and its not. It seemed to fit once installation however, when we opened the door there was not enough space for the door hinge to open. They sent the wrong color too.

- Answer Stay away from GE. Mine failied within 1 year. The LED flickers while the keypad makes setting it to cook very difficult.

QuestionWhen the microwave timer goes off letting you know the food is done cooking does the beeping stop immediately when you open the door? The current microwave I have keeps beeping a full 3 times even after the door is opened...so annoying.

QuestionI have been looking at a Whirlpool OTR microwave. I have read, the fan starts up automatically, and you can not turn it off, when heating something on the stove below. Does this unit do this also? I want to control myself if vent fan is on.

- Answer I think the dimensions are exactly the same. I found the anchor holes are in the same place so you may need to drill new holes

- Answer Make sure dimensions are same or really close if its bigger it wont fit. Basic hand tools such as a drill, tape measure, etc. will get the job done

QuestionWhy does the inside fill with smoke after about a minute of running?

- Answer Could be excess machine oil in the blower fan motor just burning off, if it doesn't smell like electrical or plastic it may just be temporary while its new. I'd watch it carefully though and make sure it doesn't continue to smoke or get worse over time. Maybe call GE or check if anyone on the internet has posted this problem. Good luck.
