Hi - We certainly appreciate your loyalty! All GE 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for your existing 30" over-the-range model JVM1540DP1WW. Also, the over-the-range models are all designed for adaptation for the following three types of ventilation: 1. Outside Exhaust (Vertical – Delivered from factory in vertical position). 2. Outside Exhaust (Horizontal). 3. Recirculating (Non-vented ductless). This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy. NOTE: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. Thanks for choosing GE. We're glad to have you in the family. Enjoy! Sue

Before I purchased checked on-line and selected one that looked identical and called to make sure it had the same dimensions as cabinets surrounding it had only an inch or less to spare. My new GE is model JVM3160DF4WW (assembled in China) and fit perfectly . . . the vent is in the mid-rear of the top same as old GE Microwave. However the mounting bolts were in slightly different place. Installer had to drill new holes in cabinet to mount the new GE Microwave to allow door to open properly. If you do it yourself be careful to seal vent "pipes" well as I had to remove cabinet housing and aluminum tape re-seal rectangular pipe better as installer left back open and outside wind in our high-rise made whistling noise. If I had seen the old GE microwave installed could have done it myself, as taking out old and installing new was fairly straight forward, however was away on business and spouse paid Sears to install old one 10 years ago. Hope this helps, take care
