Q: QuestionI have a GE over the range microwave, model #JVM1730DM1BB and need to replace it. Which model is comparable to this because I’m unable to find the exact same model. I want another GE microwave to match my other kitchen appliances. Thanks!

We first wanted to let you know that all 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. We just suggest using the mounting bracket of your new microwave as these are model specific. With that said, we believe the following models would make great replacements: JVM6175BLTS, JVM6175DKBB, and JVM3160DFBB. We're hoping this helps and we're wishing you the best. Q: QuestionLooking to replace ge microwave model number jvm1339ww ,this older microwave has an interior vented fan . I would like to replace it with model number JVM3160dfww and see if this correct model also comes with and interior exhausted fan and filter?

It does require a charcoal filter under parts number WB02X35687, which is included with your microwave. This filter should be replaced every 6 to 12 months. • A:Answer Yes hardware included. Have to be very careful with upper paper template to line up the holes for the top two bolts. Need a helper to hold up while too bolts are installed. Otherwise fairly easy install.

Q: QuestionWhy is the cut-out height (16 1/2 ", see installation manual) larger than the height of the microwave (16 1/8)? What is the height of the mounting plate? Will the microwave fit into a space that is 16 1/4 tall (top edge of tile to bottom of cabinet)?

Q: QuestionThe rear of model JVM3160RFSS is 16-1/8”. I have a drywall insert (into plaster wall) that is only 16” long. Is the screw hole on the mounting plate at least 3/4” from the bottom of the plate so that the screw will fit into the 16” drywall insert?

Q: QuestionDoes this microwave have the annoying repetitive beeps that tell that the cycle is done? Some models have a beep that occurs every couple minutes until the door is opened. This is completely unnecessary. I won't purchase this microwave if so.

We have identified 2 models for your consideration that most closely match your existing model in features and capacity -- https://www.bestbuy.com/site/compare?skus=5291501,5291514 -- The primary difference is the JNM7196SKSS model comes from the factory already set-up for internal (recirculating) venting which is the same as your existing model. The other model we've suggested would need to be converted to internal venting. We do include the directions and the charcoal filter needed to complete the conversion. The great news is all our over-the-range models will fit in a 30" wide opening. We do recommend using the new mounting bracket and hardware that will be packaged with the new model. • A:Answer The JVM3160DFWW has different mounting hole locations than the JVM3160DF3WW does. I learned the hardway that after see it incorrectly saying no modifications or same mounting hardware could be used. Especially the one on the left is like 3 inches towards the center of the microwave. The mounting bracket could still be used though.

Q: QuestionMy old GE Spacemaker XL1400 has died. The height of this model is 15 1/2”. Is there a GE over the range microwave that is 15 1/2”? The old XL1400 is currently surrounded by tile limiting space to 15 1/2”. Hoping I don’t have to get into tile removal!

• A:Answer Measuring from top to bottom of the installed unit ... it is 15 1/2" ... Underneath there is about an inch for the filters etc. So as long as you have empty space between the stove and the microwave, the total is 15 1/2"
