Over- the- range models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. This can also be measured as 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to. Model JVM1540LM2CS is no longer being manufactured. We suggest GE® 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven Model #: JVM3160RFSS- Stainless/Black (Dimensions: 16 1/2H x 29 7/8W x 15 1/4D). Actually, all 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. However, when replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. We certainly appreciate your loyalty. QuestionHow many inches from the wall to the front are the top mounting brackets? I'm replacing a Kenmore 40185044010 its brackets are only 9.5 inches, from the wall. I have thick stone backsplash and can't push it back any further.

- Answer It will fit the opening but the new mounting bracket will need to replace the old one and new holes drilled from the top. 30 minute job when I did it.
