“Looking to replace a GE Model No. JVM1540SM2SS externally vented over the range microwave. Would like one that will fit and reinstall the same space. Or, one with shorter height, all other dimension, function being similar for ease of installing.”

Hi CMT - The overall height is the same on all GE models (16 1/2"H). All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. NOTE: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. A comparable model is GE® 1.7 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven JVM6172SKSS.
