“I need to replace an existing over the range microwave GE model JVM1842BD 001, which sadly has been discontinued. Which comparable model would fit in the existing area? By the way, the existing GE that's there has lasted almost 20 years ! Thank you!”

We just replaced a 23 year old GE model with this one and it has been great. The prior model was a space saver model, so this one is a little larger in height and depth, but very reasonable. Would highly recommend!

We'll be happy to recommend you a new model. All our over-the-range microwaves are designed to fit into a 30" cabinet opening. This makes choosing a replacement a breeze. Please note however, that you will need to use the mounting kit that comes with the model. This is because the kit is made specifically for that model.
