• The Best Buy installers left a little over an inch for ventilation and for the water hook-up line.

• Hello - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This is a very nice refrigerator. It requires the following air clearances: 3" in the back, 1" on each side, and 4" on the top. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

• The manual says a 2 inch clearance is required in the rear.
