We certainly understand how important temperature adjustment is in a refrigerator, and can advise that in general our temperature control knob will make the unit colder if turned to the right or clockwise. Turning to the left or counterclockwise will result in a warmer temperature. The appliance should come from the factory set at the midpoint on the knob. Q: QuestionModel GTS16DTNRWW seems nearly identical to GTE16DTNRWW, except that GTS is not Energy Star certified, whereas GTE is certified; this also results in an estimated operating energy cost savings of $5 annually. Are these actually the only differences?

Q: QuestionI have a Kenmore fridge that turns on when it wants and turns off when it wants. Therefore, spoiling my food and beverages. I'm a Type 1 Diabetic whose insulin NEEDS to be refrigerated. I have no idea what's wrong with my fridge.

Garage-ready refrigerators have been designed and extensively tested for use in a garage environment, performing in ambient temperatures from 38°F to 110°F. We don't recommend installing non-garage-ready refrigerators where temperatures will go below 60°F. You may want to consider model GTS19KGNRWW which would be better suited as it is certified Garage Ready and comes equipped with Dual Temperature control. • A:Answer Hi there, we appreciate you reaching out to us and we're sorry your refrigerator doesn't seem to be cooling as it should. We know this is concerning and we're happy to help. The refrigerator operates at a specific temperature range 34-42 degrees Fahrenheit in the refrigerator section and between -5 and +8 degrees Fahrenheit in the freezer section. We recommend setting it at 3 and then after 24 hours adjusting the temperature control to suit your personal preferences. The individual settings 1-5 actually do not directly correlate to a specific temperature. If you're feeling as if your refrigerator isn't cooling well, we recommend the following tips: 1) Adjust the temperature. 2) Make sure that both the refrigerator and freezer contain a reasonable food load. 3) Make sure refrigerator and freezer doors can close and can properly seal. 4) Verify that the refrigerator has proper air clearance. 5) Make sure large containers are not placed against the back wall of the refrigerator. If the issue still occurs, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). All the best. - GW

Q: QuestionFor the picture when the door is open, what is the bottom 'shelf' with the door (below where the milk is)? It seems like it has a handle that can open. Is that a small door open to extra space to put something like salad dressing or small bottles?
