Sorry, with my previous answer; this is about 16.5" wide without side panels. It would fit, but I don't think you could get even 1 side panel on, which not be bad because it might fit like it was made for the window and be perfectly flush only needed some weather stripping.

Per the installation instructions: "the air conditioner can be installed without the side curtain panels if needed to fit in a narrow window." This particular model measures 16 7/16"W. without the side curtain panels. Be sure to follow all other instructions regarding securing the unit into your window.
