You have to press the arrow pointing down. The number 85 that you see is the temperature of the room. While the room begins to get cool, the number will begin to decrease.

When you press the Power button, the display shows the room temperature. It shows the Set temperature while setting the temperature in Cool or Energy Saver (Eco) modes. Press Mode pad and select Cool, then use the Increase + / Decrease - pads to select your desired temperature.
