That railing has to be screwed down into the top so tight that you think the screws will strip. I had Elsa pass through with torrential rain and 50-60+ mph winds blowing towards the window and mine upheld very well with no leakage, but I probably built a muscle while screwing that top rail in well!

You may need to add foam gasket or seal in that area to prevent rainwater from seeping in. Also, make sure you did not remove any styrofoam like pieces in the unit as this is not packaging or shipping materials. If this does not resolve the issue you're having we would recommend reviewing the warranty information found on Page 17 of the Owner's Manual. We hope this helps. Vikki@GEA
