“I just put in the a/c's 2 weeks ago and the red filter button is going on?.... Where is the filter? How do I take it out and rinse it off? I guess that is what it wants? Why is the red button on?”

Hi Tom - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE! The filter indicator light will come on after 240 hours of operation to remind you to clean the filter. The air filter behind the front grille should be checked and cleaned at least every 30 days or more often if necessary. Slide the filter from the left side of the unit and clean with warm, soapy water. Rinse and let the filter dry before replacing it. The indicator light will come on after 240 hours of operation. Clean the air filter (refer to page 6), place it back in the front panel, and press the Filter Reset pad. The light will go off.
