I'd recommend you see if a handheld Swiffer is thin enough to carefully slide in there and perhaps vacuum the outside of the unit and change the filter more often to help cut down on dust inside.

Please try again later.Hi - The issue you're having with the unit freezing up and not cooling as well as it used to is most likely associated with the accumulation of dust you found behind the filter and on the coils.
