This refrigerator requires a 15 AMP electrical circuit as the minimum amount of power required to operate. I figure that all of the GE models of similar size share the same electrical equipment and therefore require at least a 15 AMP power outlet to handle the power load.

All GE refrigerators, regardless of the cu. ft. capacity, require a 115 or 120-volt individual, properly-grounded branch circuit with a 3-prong grounding type receptacle, protected by a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse. Our countertop microwaves also have the same requirements. If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to ask, we are happy to help at GEAppliances.com! Sue
