Hi Rousie - The freezer does not have interior lighting. It is compatible with Optional Icemaker Kit IM4LED (sold separately). In addition to making ice, IM4LED instantly adds bright LED lighting to the freezer compartment. Thanks for considering GE! SUE@GEA
