Hi there - This washing machine can be plugged directly into the wall or dryer. If you were to purchase the dryer model GFT14ESSMWW, you would follow the installation instructions for installing a 3-prong or 4-prong cord. We hope this helps! -Gina@GEA

Correct; washer plugs into the dryer and the dryer plugs into the wall, but with a three prong plug (see the picture I've attached of my outlet).
