Hello PinkLady - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and we are happy to help you. This refrigerator has the normal operating intermittent sounds of: humming or whooshing from the high efficiency compressor which may run faster and longer than your old refrigerator. You may also hear the whir sound from the fans spinning which occurs when it is first plugged in, when the doors are opened frequently or when the refrigerator is empty, or when a large amount of food is added to the refrigerator or freezer compartments. The fans are helping to maintain the correct temperatures. Other intermittent sounds you may hear include clicks, pops, cracks, chirps and water sounds. We hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
