“this unit I have is not making ice and the water filter light stays red even as I have replaced the filter. Also not cooling”

Hi Bob- We are sorry to hear of the difficulties. Thanks for reaching out to us. Ice production is dependent upon the temperature of the refrigerator. The refrigerator and icemaker must be at proper temperature. The recommended fresh food temperature is 37 degrees F; the freezer temperature is 0 degrees F. The icemaker must reach 16 degrees F before a cycle will begin. On some models the light goes out, and others will turn green; either is considered normal. If you do not hold the pad in, the red light will stay on. Also, if you hold the pad in for a long period of time, the light will go off and then come back on. If this does not turn the red light off, having it checked by a service technician is recommended.
