• The lights do not stay on all the time. They will come on when you load or unload the dishwasher but will go off. Compared to our other GE, this dishwasher is also much quieter

• Hi Mark - Generally speaking, electronic control models have light emitting diode (LED) indicators that take extremely small amounts of electricity. The lights go off after a period of time if the dishwasher is not started. Pushing any button or opening and closing the door will re-illuminate the lights. If the dishwasher was started, the lights will remain on until the dishwasher door is opened at the end of the cycle. Clean is displayed when a wash cycle is complete. The light stays ON as a reminder that the dishes are clean. The light will turn off when the door is opened. Sanitized is displayed at end of the cycle when Wash Temp Sani or Sanitize Temp has been selected and dishwasher has met requirements for sanitization. • When you open the dishwasher and close it the lights will stay on a bit...but they eventually turn off...this is normal. If yours stay on you may not be closing it all the way.
