Excellent Dishwasher
|Posted .This is a fantastic dishwasher as long as you use the correct suggested soap. We tried liquid soap and our dishes were awful. Then we switched to the suggested packs and they have never been cleaner.

Brand new dishwasher leaks, 3 months, no repair
Posted .Features
Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use2 out of 5This dishwasher has leaked since installation and will start to leak about half way through the cycle. Our plumber came back to double check it was installed correctly, it was. Technician came out (had to take a half day off) and thought he fixed it, but didn't. Came out again (another half day off (no weekend appointments) and had to order parts. Now we have to wait another 8 days for GE to ship us parts that may or may not fix it but will definitely require another half day off for me to be there. It is a bad product, with poor quality control, and a service department that has a hard schedule to work with if you have a normal 9-5 job. If you look at my pictures, I show the time remaining in the cycle about when the leak started and my now stained hardwood floor and water on the floor in front of my machine.

What's not to love?
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI read all reviews before buying, the pros outweighed the cons and glad I did, love it. Very spacious with many options, can fold up or down areas to isolate items; like dipping cups, can do half wash using bottom rack only, etc. MUST use Finish or other rinse agent. Yes, gets very hot, but, your dishes come out SO clean. Equally the heat really heats the dishes to dry. I read someone said it melted plasticware, I put hard rubber spatulas on bottom rack, Rubbermaid plasticware on top and rubber scraping spatulas on top rack no melt just squeaky clean. Used the jets for juice glasses, stained ice tea glassware, and they are so clean. I interrupted the dry cycle halfway to get something out; found everything hot and already dry to touch; shut it off and closed door for 10 minutes- 100% dry. I read complaint of water remaining on dishes, not so. It washes/rinses /dries with very hot options. Any water in the dishwasher after emptying (afterall it is a DW wipe dry with paper towel. Many options, i.e. set heat temp. Very nice looking, like a Mercedes or Cadillac of DWs...:) looks great and huge in kitchen. Has made my life so much easier. Someone said loud, not so, I have to put my ear to it to see if on although orange light on door indicates on, positioned some pots pans and other items kinda loose once and that was the only noise I heard, by the way, the pots/pans come out SO clean. Take time to experiment w options and you'll love it , believe me I'm extremely picky ...so look @ /try everything. multiple times and if find a negative, you'll see it here but, I am so pleased. Highy recommend.

Inept Installation; Love ❤️ Dishwasher
Posted .Water gushing onto counter from air gap. Dishwasher Drain Line is not installed properly. The line is snaking along floor. It is suppose to go directly from Dishwasher to Air Gap as per directions.

I have purchased 3 of these dishwashers
|Posted .So far so good. Nice looking dishwasher. We have used them in rental units and home. Have not really used the bottle washers, but it is a nice option. Can fill it full. It cleans well. You can use it without a heated dry cycle, but the dishes come out best when you use the dry cycle. The only down side is the cycles are really long. Dishwasher is very quiet though...and you can run it while in the same room and it does not bother you. Not sure it is a 5 star, but 4-4.5 because it seems like a solid dishwasher so far. The first one we purchased was about 3 years ago.

Finally Clean Dishes
|Posted .This dishwasher is the Cadillac of dishwashers. We love the slots for silverware. It cleans them completely since items cant nest together. When we received it I washed all my vases and odd shaped items. The prongs that it has on the top shelf are amazing at getting up into weird shaped items. I love the top small 3rd rack. I use it for long knives and long plastic cookware. Its also good for small flat plastic lids from falling through or warping.

Q: QuestionHow long does it take to run a load? My current GE, (2 years old) takes 4 hours! Not acceptable!
Asked by Cindy.
- A:Answer I think if you select like every option it has the cycle may be over two hours. But typically like under a hundred minutes. It has been good so far.

Q: QuestionWhere are the lights? Where do you look to see if on or off or what cycle?
Asked by Dnanc.
- A:Answer Hi Dnanc- The dishwasher has "Hidden Controls" located on the top of the door with "Status Light" on the front of the door. The indicator light on the door front will change color to indicate the wash status. During the wash cycle, the indicator light will be amber. When the wash cycle is complete, the light will change to green. Thanks for checking with us! SUE@GEA

Q: QuestionWe recently bought a lower end GE dishwasher, model GDF530PGMBB and the motor has an awful high-pitched whining noise. Does this higher end model use the same motor, and therefore have the same whining sound?

Q: QuestionAre dishwasher had a "IH" statement where the time usually is. What does that mean
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi - Thanks for choosing GE! Your dishwasher has a Delay Start 1-12 Hour option. Touch the Delay Start pad once for each hour of delay desired (1 to 12 hours). The number of hours delayed will be shown in digital time display or LED indicators. Example: 1 hour delay will show 1H. The control will automatically count down and display the remaining hours left before cycle starts. At end of the countdown, the dishwasher will start the selected program. Unlatching the door does not cancel the delay start cycle. To cancel the Delay Start option, press the "Delay Start" pad until the hours of delay indicator goes off. If the Delay Start pad does not have an Off selection: Use the Start or Start/Reset pad, depending on the model. On most models, pressing and holding the Start pad for 3 seconds will cancel any set cycle, including the Delay Start cycle. Q: QuestionReceived our new GE dishwasher yesterday. The end song did not chime at end of cycle, and the logo emblem is different. The model # online is GDT655SSJSS, but ours is #GDT655SSJ4SS - what does the "4" mean?
Asked by WriterMom777.
- A:Answer Hi WriterMom777- Thanks for choosing GE! When the model is manufactured, the extra number (4) is placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card. This number is used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, this is used as an identifier for the specific appliance. GE Appliances is changing the appliances badge and is going from a dome shaped to a flat badge. The sounds may be muted. press the Heated Dry or Power Dry button 7 times within 5 seconds. Repeat this process to turn sounds on/off. For reference, see page 9 of the Owner's Manual at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-55119-1.PDF - Keep in touch! Q: QuestionDoes this dishwasher have a removable filter that catches food particles so that you can empty it and food doesn't get flung all over your dishes?
Asked by Susan.
- A:Answer Hi Susan- Yes, the dishwasher is equipped with 100% Filtration with PIRANHA™ HARD FOOD DISPOSER and REMOVABLE FILTER- To ensure consistently clean items, this stainless steel blade rotates at 3,600 RPM to pulverize food particles and helps to prevent large particles from clogging the wash arms. Thanks for choosing GE. Enjoy! SUE@GEA

Q: QuestionOn the slate colored dishwashers, the color listed says tan for one, silver for another and grey. Is there a difference in this slate based on model? Do I have to buy a profile disherwasher to match a profile refrigerator?
Asked by Adm.
- A:Answer Hi Adm- We are excited to hear of your interest! Slate is a highly engineered, low-gloss matte metallic paint finish and resists fingerprints and smudges. This dark matte finish is inspired by the rich texture of stone. The sides, case and accent parts (depending on appliance) are Dorian Gray (dark gray) and handles/knobs are stainless. The Slate finish is the same on both GE and GE Profile appliances so you can mix across product lines. Q: QuestionI have a GE GDT655. I do not know what the display to the left of the Delay Start button is. If no delay, a 221 appeared on display. I thought it might be cycle length in minutes. The countdowns that I checked were much longer than a minute. ??
Asked by Mully.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Black Slate- A:Answer Hi Mully - Thanks for choosing GE! This is a 3 digit display cycle countdown. You may notice the dishwasher does not display the same time each time you start a cycle, and sometimes the count down display time jumps around. This is normal. The dishwasher has a soil and temperature sensor that measures wash conditions and automatically adjusts the wash cycle time. Keep in touch! Sue
