Q: Does this dishwasher have a removable filter that catches food particles so that you can empty it and food doesn't get flung all over your dishes?

A: Hi Susan- Yes, the dishwasher is equipped with 100% Filtration with PIRANHA™ HARD FOOD DISPOSER and REMOVABLE FILTER- To ensure consistently clean items, this stainless steel blade rotates at 3,600 RPM to pulverize food particles and helps to prevent large particles from clogging the wash arms. Thanks for choosing GE. Enjoy! SUE@GEA

Q: Where are the lights? Where do you look to see if on or off or what cycle?

A: Hi Dnanc- The dishwasher has "Hidden Controls" located on the top of the door with "Status Light" on the front of the door. The indicator light on the door front will change color to indicate the wash status. During the wash cycle, the indicator light will be amber. When the wash cycle is complete, the light will change to green. Thanks for checking with us! SUE@GEA

Q: How long does it take to run a load? My current GE, (2 years old) takes 4 hours! Not acceptable!

A: I think if you select like every option it has the cycle may be over two hours. But typically like under a hundred minutes. It has been good so far.

Q: Received our new GE dishwasher yesterday. The end song did not chime at end of cycle, and the logo emblem is different. The model # online is GDT655SSJSS, but ours is #GDT655SSJ4SS - what does the "4" mean?

A: Hi WriterMom777- Thanks for choosing GE! When the model is manufactured, the extra number (4) is placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card. This number is used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, this is used as an identifier for the specific appliance. GE Appliances is changing the appliances badge and is going from a dome shaped to a flat badge. The sounds may be muted. press the Heated Dry or Power Dry button 7 times within 5 seconds. Repeat this process to turn sounds on/off. Q: Where is the vent on this dishwasher?

A: under the door , you can feel the hot air come out during the drying process

Q: On the slate colored dishwashers, the color listed says tan for one, silver for another and grey. Is there a difference in this slate based on model? Do I have to buy a profile disherwasher to match a profile refrigerator?

A: Hi Adm- We are excited to hear of your interest! Slate is a highly engineered, low-gloss matte metallic paint finish and resists fingerprints and smudges. This dark matte finish is inspired by the rich texture of stone. The sides, case and accent parts (depending on appliance) are Dorian Gray (dark gray) and handles/knobs are stainless. The Slate finish is the same on both GE and GE Profile appliances so you can mix across product lines. Q: When my dishwasher is on the light in the front is amber but when it is done it does not turn green, it turns white.. what does this mean?

A: Hello. The white LED does indicate the dishwasher successfully cleaned the load and the cycle is complete. Some of the GDT655 series were produced with a white LED rather than a green LED clean light. There is no functional difference in the dishwasher. The clean light is simply white rather than green. Thanks for checking. Olga
