It’s narrow .... but there’s the top rack for knives, spatulas, brushes. You may need to adjust the other racks up or down to make room for pans

There's a third rack at the very top of the dishwasher that can hold items such as a spatula, serving spoons and silverware. I usually keep that rack out of the dishwasher to fave room for taller glasses that won't fit in the dishwasher with that third rack installed.

Yes, there's a very shallow rack at the very top. Nothing more than silverware or low-profile objects fit in that rack. They won't get clean either, so don't buy it.

The silverware holder counts as third rack, where you can put objects up to 2 "high. The middle rack has 3 positions. I hope I've helped with my answer
