A:AnswerHi Kat, thanks for reaching out to us! We truly appreciate your interest in this fantastic top-freezer refrigerator and are happy to answer this question for you. Our garage-ready refrigerators are specially designed for use in a garage environment and have been extensively tested and proven to perform in ambient temperatures from 38°F to 110°F. They provide you with flexibility in location and are a great option for more extreme climates! These refrigerators can be identified by the "Dual Temp Control" option on the freezer air tower, which allows you to adjust the refrigerator and freezer controls during peak temperature swings to ensure the compressor operates frequently enough to keep stored food at safe temperatures. While this specific refrigerator is not a garage-ready model, we do offer a comparable refrigerator, model GTS19KGNRWW, that is! You can learn more about this model here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ge-19-1-cu-ft-top-freezer-refrigerator-white/6399140.p?skuId=6399140. We hope that this helps! -Eliza@GEA
A:AnswerHello Carol - Thank you for reaching out about this excellent refrigerator. We are always happy to help.
The drawers can be accessed by opening the doors to 90 degrees. However, in order to remove the drawers for cleaning, the doors will need to open farther, by about 16".
We hope this helps. Keep in touch! - JB
A:AnswerHi there - thank you so much for reaching out to us! You're correct, this model does not have a machine compartment cover on the lower part of the exterior back of the unit. Rest assured, this is an intentional design and it will not affect the compressor's performance or effectiveness. We hope this helps! Be well, Kelsey@GEA
A:AnswerHi DLCJ - Thanks for considering GE! We recommend to allow the following clearances for ease of installation, proper air circulation and plumbing and
electrical connections: Sides: 1"; Top 4"; Back 3". See Quick Specs: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=GPE12FGK_FSK_r2.pdf - The refrigerator is designed, tested and manufactured to these specific specifications. Keep in touch! Sue

A:AnswerThe GPE12FSKSB does not have a separate temperature control for the freezer. The freezer compartment will be colder when the fresh food compartment temperature is lower. If your ice cream is too soft, you may need to experiment to determine the best location to keep your ice cream at the right serving temperature. The coldest location is typically at the rear of the freezer. -Don@GEAppliances
A:AnswerHi there - We really appreciate you reaching out and we're glad to offer some insight. The cord comes out from the rear of the refrigerator, about 9" up from the floor and 3 1/2" over from the right as you face the front. The cord itself is about 5 to 6 feet long. We hope this helps! Let us know if you need anything moving forward - we're always happy to assist. All the best, Kelsey@GEA

A:AnswerHi Michelle- GE® ENERGY STAR® 11.6 cu. ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator
GPE12FGKWW is frost-free. Refrigerators with automatic defrost have a drain tube that carries water from the defrost cycle to a fixed drain pan under the refrigerator. These models require some disassembly to access the defrost drain tube. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
A:AnswerHi Kim- Yes, the refrigerator doors are "true" stainless steel. Also, we recommend 1" air clearance on each side, 4" top and 3" back. If all clearances are met except for only bottom half of one side this should be fine. A:AnswerHi Sandy1224- Thanks for considering our GE® ENERGY STAR® GPE12FSKSB! The sides of the refrigerator are black and match the black recessed handle. The refrigerator is not offered with stainless steel sides. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
