Hi Stitch- Yes, most current appliances have a data port (like an RJ jack or Ethernet port) that allows the appliance to be tested or serviced more easily. This port is used by GE Appliances factory technicians to plug in their diagnostic equipment when needed. Servicing your appliance may require the use of the onboard data port for diagnostics. This gives our service technicians the ability to quickly diagnose any issues with your appliance and helps us improve our products by providing us with information on your appliance. If you do not want your appliance data to be sent to us, please advise your technician not to submit the data at the time of service.
