Hi JC- This is Sue at GE Appliances. We are excited to hear of your interest! Our refrigerators continue to be designed with as quiet a performance as possible. Newer refrigerators sound different from older refrigerators. Modern refrigerators have more features and use newer technology. Also, different kitchen layouts will produce different sounds due to the type of flooring, cabinetry, wall and insulation behind the refrigerator, acoustics within the kitchen, food loads, etc. Thanks for checking with us!
