Hello MMO - Congratulations on the new refrigerator! We would love to answer any questions you might have. With a new installation, the icemaker will not start immediately after being plugged in, since the icemaker must reach a temperature of approximately 15 degrees F. before a cycle is initiated. Please allow up to 24 hours for the icemaker to begin cycling. Let us know if we can help with anything else. - John@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.About 24 hours. You will hear the ice start dropping into the bin. You need to run about 2–3 gallons of water out of your water dispenser and discard your first batch of ice as the Water and Ice will have charcoal bits in it from first use is the water filter !!!! Just open the left door and release the 2 levers to remove the ice bin and dump the ice. Push the bin back in and push the levers back in. Your all set.
