A:AnswerHello, and thanks for reaching out to us about this. We hate to hear you've had some trouble with removing the handles and know that may have been an inconvenience. The handle has small screws near the top; these set screws can be loosened with an 1/8” Allen wrench. As this model is a door in door, you should latch the inner door to the outer before removing the handle. Once the screws have been removed you simply need to remove the handle from the mounting fastener. Further details are available in the installation instructions, if needed. We are also happy to help with any other questions or concerns you may have. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA
A:AnswerHello Shelly. Thank you for your recent purchase of this lovely refrigerator. The temperature will not remain displayed on the control panel. It will display for a short period of time, approximately 10 seconds, while you are setting either section for temperature you would like. The display then goes blank after you have selected the temperature you wish. Stay well and enjoy your new refrigerator. Geoff@GEA
A:AnswerGreetings,
Oh goodness! We're awfully sorry to hear that your fridge is getting warm. We can definitely understand your concern. If the refrigerator is running but not cooling at all or is not cold enough, several factors may influence the temperature. Check the following:
Check the temperature control settings: To change the temperature, press and release the
Freezer or Fridge pad. The display will show the set
temperature. To change the temperature, press either the
Freezer or Fridge pad until the desired temperature is
displayed. Press and hold button for Turbo Cool feature.
The display will show tC. Press and hold button for Turbo
Freeze feature. The display will show tF.
To turn off the cooling system press and hold the Fridge
and Ice Maker buttons. To turn on, press Fridge or
Freezer.
Turning the cooling system off stops the cooling to the
refrigerator, but it does not shut off the electrical power. We hope this helps. If you need anything else, reach out to us anytime. Best wishes! Mike@GEA
A:AnswerHi there - Great question! Yes, this refrigerator can be connected to a reverse osmosis system. If the water supply to the refrigerator is from an RO system, you will need to use a bypass plug in place of the water filter. Check out page 42 in the Owner's Manual for additional information: https://bit.ly/3sgA0lK. Feel free to reach out to us on social media if you have any other questions. Thanks for checking! -Mikayla@GEA

A:AnswerHi Kimbow - Thanks for viewing GE Model GFD28GBLTS! Bottom freezer and french door refrigerators have a water reservoir coil in the fresh food section that holds 12 - 24 oz. of water. The water is chilled and stored until it is needed. Since the reservoir is in the fresh food section, the water will not be ice-cold. After the 12 - 24 oz. of cold water is dispensed, any additional water dispensed will not be chilled until the water in the coil tubing has had time to chill again. We'd love to have you in the family. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
