Hi ShouldIBuyIt- This is Sue at GE Appliances. We are happy to provide assistance! model GTW330ASKWW has a "Load Size" knob that allows you to select your preferred load size for the desired water level: Small, Regular, Large, Super. It does not have Precise Fill (sensor) option. The matching dryer is our GE® 7.2 CU. FT. CAPACITY ALUMINIZED ALLOY DRUM ELECTRIC DRYER GTD33EASKWW (GTD33GASKWW) or GE® 6.2 CU. FT. CAPACITY ALUMINIZED ALLOY DRUM ELECTRIC DRYER GTX33EASKWW (GTX33GASKWW). We also offer GE® 4.2 DOE CU. FT. STAINLESS STEEL CAPACITY WASHER GTW460ASJWW with both "Precise Fill" and the option of 4 water level selections (Load Size knob). Select your preferred load size for the desired water level or let the machine automatically sense the load and add the amount of water needed to ensure great cleaning results. This model also features Deep Fill option. Customize your water-fill levels with just the touch of a button. Add a little extra or fill the tub to wash the way you want. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you, Sue at GE! I am looking at both the 3.8 cubic (gtw330askww) and the 4.2 cubic (GTW460ASJWW) washers. It's not just the size that separates them--they are similar, but really very different washers. The 3.8 is technically not an HE (haven't figured out what makes something an HE or a non-HE yet; perhaps you can tell me). So the 3.8 cubic machine can take both HE detergent and non-HE detergent. The agitator design is also different. I went on youtube and found a guy who sells appliances in Texas who did a wonderful video of the settings and operations of both of these machines. He was quite methodical and I watched two hours of his washing machine videos. You can find them by putting the model numbers into the search bar on youtube. I watched the way the slotted wing worked on the agitator of the 3.8 cubic washer, and I think it might do a better job washing than the 4.2 cubic washer because the back and forth motion really gives them a good swishing. The agitator on the 4.2 cubic machine still looked fine, but I wonder if it might be too gentle when there are lots of sweatshirts and jeans in the wash. It also appeared that the 3.8 cubic was less stressful in that last part of the spin cycle. The 3.8 cubic washer did not seem to spin as violently as the 4.2 cubic so I had to wonder if the reason for that was that the 3.8 was just smaller and simply doesn't build up the force that the 4.2 might. My 5 questions to you are these: First, do you think my suppositions are correct about the 3.8 agitator being better and about the 4.2 shaking more simply due to it's size? Second, do you think that I can effectively wash a queen sized comforter fluffy comforter in the 3.8, or should I get the 4.2 to expect good results on something that large? Third, to be clear, on the 3.8 cubic, can I add water to the selected setting---no sensor at all on this one, I just select the water level myself with the setting, right?---can I add water to my selected setting using the Deep Rinse feature? And if so, will it give me the extra water in the initial fill/washing part, or would I Only get the extra water in the rinsing part of the load? I am aware that the Deep Fill setting is not available on the 3.8 cubic, just on the 4.2 (and the 4.2 cubic has both Deep Fill and Deep Rinse). Fourth, please tell me what month and year each of these washers came on the market? I can't find that info anyplace---that would help me a lot in understanding the reviews (I think some reviews are for prior incarnations of GE washers and some are for a 4.2 cubic that is an Energy Star, but I am not looking at the Energy Star at all). And finally, what makes a machine an HE machine versus a non-HE machine? I highly recommend watching the videos on youtube---it helped me to see that some of the poor reviews might be caused by operator misunderstanding and that the intense spin cycle is not as troublesome as one might think. However, I see that the way to improve this machine immediately is to make a 4.2 cubic where you can choose a more gentle spin cycle (until then I would be putting delicates into a Woolite bag or a mesh bag just as a precaution. I hope to hear back from you, Sue and thanks again for responding.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can choose the water level by selecting load size on the dial furthest to the left.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The washer does have sensors. I'm not sure if you can over ride the sensors. However, it's a GREAT washer. Usually I like to fill my washer with lots and lots of water. But, this washer uses the sensors well and it still does a GREAT job! LOVE THIS WASHER!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This model does not have that option.
