Hi CV45- The washer has bleach and fabric softener dispensers that automatically operate with wash cycle. It does not have a detergent dispenser. Step 1. Add fabric softener to the fabric softener dispenser. Add the recommended amount of detergent or detergent packet/pod to the bottom of the wash basket before adding clothes. Step 2. Loosely add items/clothes around the agitator. Close lid. Note: Unit will not start with lid open if Precise Fill is selected except on Bulky Items cycle. Step 3. Select wash cycle, options, and load size. Step 4. Press Start.
