However, the washer will automatically drain any time the lid is left open for more than 15 minutes and water is present or if left in a paused state with the lid closed for more than 24 hours and water is present. • I think you can pause the machine at any time. There is a pause button. There are places to add softener and bleach at the beginning of the cycle and it will add at the correct time. But you can open the machine to add items or more soap or softener any time except spin. The agitator stops when the door is opened.
