While that length of time for a wash cycle is uncommon, it's not unheard of. The reason your wash duration is so long is because you have a new machine. You see all major appliances, no matter the brand are designed to be as energy efficient as possible. This includes laundry machines. It would be counterproductive to substantially decrease the power of a washer enough for it to conform with efficacy regulations. Therefore it instead uses much less water to conserve energy. Less water = longer wash duration.
