“Are the knobs made of plastic or are they made of metal? I have a GE cooktop and the knobs have all broken. Replacement cost is prohibitive and I recommend that anyone buying a cooktop buy one with metal knobs.”

These knobs are weighted, temperature resistant electroplated plastic. You should not expect to have issues with this design.
