- Answer Hi - Great question! Yes you can, providing you are canning with a water-bath, pressure canner, or pressure cooker. It is essential that you use flat bottom canners. Do not use large diameter canners or other large diameter pots for frying or boiling foods other than water. When canning, use recipes and procedures from reputable sources. QuestionNever had a convection range before. Is it normal for convection fan to cycle on and off (on for 55 seconds off for 5 seconds continuously).

- Answer Hi! Thanks for asking, we can understand wanting to check on this. On some models of dual-fuel and electric ranges/wall ovens, the oven convection fan comes on immediately. On some models, the fan is also used during preheat. The convection fan will typically operate during all convection cooking modes and (along with the heating elements) will shut off when the door is opened and turn back on when door is closed. During cooking modes it will run to a specified on/off cycle, dependent upon the cooking mode being selected. It is normal for the fan to cycle on and off frequently during the convection cooking cycle. Algorithms decide when elements and fans should run to create the optimal heat distribution within the oven cavity. Hope this helps! Happy cooking. -Michael@GEA

- Answer Hi there, thanks for your question! You can use traditional baking or convection baking in the lower oven. To use traditional baking, you'll press the BAKE pad and for convection baking, you'll press the CONV BAKE pad. Convection baking is only available for the lower oven. We hope this helps! - Answer Its shows progression by degree. Top oven heats very quickly. Bottom oven around the same amount of time as a conventional oven.

- Answer Hi Siege - Thank you for your interest in a new GE model range. This range requires a 4 amp, 3 or 4 wire cord. You should select the appropriate cord based on either your local code requirements or what type of outlet you have available in your home. If you aren't sure, we recommend taking a picture of your existing outlet so you can be sure to choose the matching 40 amp cord. QuestionHi: Researching other double ovens with convection, the fan unit 'bumps' out in the back and the range cannot be pushed to the wall, causing it to stick out. Is this the case with this double convection range? Or can it be pushed flush to the wall?

- Answer This oven in fact will not sit flush against the wall. Sadly I took the advise above and now it's out from the wall due to the "bumps in the back!

This particular range has a smooth top surface, and we recommend using medium or heavy-weight cookware made of stainless steel or heavy aluminum. Cast iron cookware is not recommended because if it has a rough spot on the bottom, it will scratch the cooktop. Once this cast iron cookware heats up, it holds an intense amount of heat which is transferred to the cooktop. This can cause the element to shut down as a response to the temperature limiters which indicate if surface temperature is too high for cooktop components to handle. However, if the cast iron is coated in porcelain, it can be used. QuestionIs the stainless steel finish on this model the same as the GE over the range microwave with "fingerprint resistant stainless steel" (Model #JVM6175YKFS).

- Answer Hello MatchingSet, Thank you for reaching out. GE Appliances has designed this fingerprint resistant finish to blend with non-fingerprint resistant stainless steels. The color and tone of our Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel has very good color harmony with the other products. The finish does have a more rich satin finish (slightly less reflective), but in kitchen suite appearance reviews, this has been accepted broadly. We hope this information is helpful. Mike@GEA

QuestionI have had this oven for two weeks. When pre-heating, it clicks, loudly, every 8 seconds. It’s unbearable. I understand normal clicking, but this cannot be right. It is so loud and constant that you can’t enjoy watching TV in the other room.

- Answer I have had my range for 3 months now. I love mine but mine makes no such noise. It is extremely quiet. Once it reaches temperature it does make a quiet little chime but that is all.
