“My builder installed our vent fan, we have 9’ ceilings and the vent is about a foot too low. Are we missing a piece? I can send a picture of you like. Thanks in advance.”

In order for the stock kit to work you have to install the hood at a higher location above the stove. If you want it at it's current distance from the stove you'll have to buy the extension piece. In the directions, it tells you want distance to mount it at for 9' ceilings. We thought it was too high so we bought the extension.
