Hi Andy- GE® 30" Wall-Mount Pyramid Chimney Hood JVW5301EJES is not designed for island installation. This vent hood is designed to be installed onto a wall with no above cabinets. We currently offer GE Profile™ Series 36" Island Hood PV977NSS.
