Q: QuestionI recently bought and had install this refrigerator. I did not notice until I open the freezer section one night (w/out house lights on) that section was dark, no light. Is no light installed in the freezer section ? Or is my freezer light not working?

Q: QuestionWhy is the refrigerator temperature not lower than 42 degrees and the freezer temperature not less than 10 degrees? Aren’t those unsafe food storage temperatures? Ice cream is like soft serve and items in refrigerator spoil easily.

• A:Answer The recommended temperature settings are 37°F for the fresh food compartment and 0°F for the freezer compartment. Your refrigerator is factory-set to the recommended setting of "3." If colder temperatures are desired, the controls can be adjusted to settings "4" or "5." Please allow up to 24 hours for the temperatures to stabilize after the refrigerator is initially plugged in or after any adjustment is made to the controls. Also, ensure that the refrigerator has adequate installation clearances: 2 inches at the rear, 1 inch above the unit, and 1/8 inch on each side. For additional troubleshooting suggestions, be sure to review the article titled "Refrigerator - Not Cooling Enough" on the GE Appliances website.
