Hello - Thanks for reaching out; we'd be glad to help. If using an XWFE filter, the reasons the water filter will flash a red light can be due to a bad or damaged filter, the filter is wet, or the filter is expired. Change the water filter or install the bypass plug with the RFID sensor to resolve. Proper installation of the filter can be found on pages 9 and 10 of the owner's manual.
