Hi - We are deeply sorry to hear you are having difficulty with your dehumidifier. Please make sure the bucket is installed correctly as this could cause the unit to stop working. The foam to which we're referring is part of the float device and is pictured on Page 7 of the Owner's Manual. If the foam is mistaken for packing material and inadvertently removed, the dehumidifier will not operate properly as it can no longer determine how much water is in the bucket. If you are unable to resolve the issue with the unit, please refer to Page 11 of the Owner's Manual for warranty instructions. All our best! Vikki@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The only foam that should be left in the bucket is the small piece of foam on the float. This makes sure it stops when the bucket is full by pulling the small magnet away from the sensor above it. If this is removed the bucket may overflow. If you aren't collecting water more than likely there is a problem with the compressor or the coolant has leaked out.

Thats the part its talking about. It maybe more that It'll most likely overflow. It could be that you have the setting set to low or high depending on how much moisture you want left in the room. I had mine set at 50% to start like the book suggested but had to changed it because it was to dry. My setting is on low and it turns on or off when it senses its surroundings. I haven't use the auto setting yet, since I want control on the %.
