“From a previous answer, it sounds like this can't be used with an existing 36" GE cooktop but only with new cooktops. I have a GE ZGU385NSM2SS cooktop and GE ZVB36SH1SS downdraft. I intended to use this to replace the downdraft. Is that not an option?”

We don’t have a GE cooktop. We called Best Buy explained what brand we had along with the information specific to what we were trying to replace. They recommended this one and it works great.
