I recently bought the GE 1.9 cu ft sensor over the range microwave JNM7196SK1SS. BEST BUY installed the oven with the GE stainless steel adapter kit to fit this 30" wide oven into the 36" wide opening. Both the oven and the adapter kit are 16" tall so the fit is perfect. Love how it looks and it is functioning properly. If GE sells a 17" tall adapter kit (I didn't see one) then that would obviously solve the issue. However it sounds like you'll have to change your oven selection to a 16" tall oven to fit the adapter that is available. Hope that helps

In retrospect there are NO DIMENSIONS, or any other specifications for this overpriced part on Best Buy's website. It is the ONLY filler kit offered by Best Buy and I guess my salesman assumed it would fit. So here's a clue folks: actually post the specifications for this part on the website and indicate which microwaves it is not compatible with. Mine isn't per the answer from GE. I'm going to spend many hours of my time trying to unwind this. Not happy.

The JX36DSS is approved for use with models #PVM9215SKSS and the #PVM9179SKSS. It is not approved to use with Profile model #PVM9005SJSS. The #PVM9005SJSS does not offer a matching filler kit.
