QuestionI'm not able to get the deep fill button to work. It says hold for three seconds before starting the washer to get a deep fill, but only twice since I've owned it has it added extra water to the wash cycle, I have to fill with a bucket for bulky items!

- Answer The reason why the Deep Fill feature doesn't work is because it's a cheap GE product. I see the GE tech gave you an answer that the Deep Fill doesn't work on the Normal/Colors wash cycle; but the Deep Fill on my GE washer doesn't work on any cycle. And all this happened shortly after the warranty expired. Next time, when you get a new washer, don't get a GE. :)

QuestionWhat are temperature differences of tap cool, cold, cool, colors?

- Answer Hello Mastodon, This is Joyce from GE Appliances. I will be happy to help! Temperature variation is approximately +/- 3 degrees. Tap Cold is the temperature out of the cold water faucet. Cold is 62 degrees and cool is 70 degrees. Colors is 75 degrees. Thanks so much for checking with us. Have a good day!

QuestionWhat is the biggest size comforter or blanket (like queen or king sizes) that would fit in it? I was hoping to find a 4.6 cu in GE top loader with agitator but can't in my area .....do u know where to find one? My zip code is 16033

- Answer Hi- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for your interest in our Top Load Washers! Yes, the lid lock engages when the washer is either load-sensing before and during fill, or when it is spinning above 50 RPM. To add items after washer has started, press Start/Pause if the lid is locked; wait until the Lid Lock indicator on the display is no longer illuminated before attempting to open the lid. Lift the lid and submerge additional items around the outside of the basket. Close the lid and press Start to resume. Pausing the machine during the spin cycle does unlock the lid, but the user must wait until the basket has completely coasted down to a stop before the lid unlocks, of course for safety reasons. QuestionI just bought a whirlpool washer, its been in my house for a whole * 1 * DAY. i CANT STAND IT! Best Buy is sending me a GE 4685000 instead. I want a washer to wash! TOO USE AS MUCH WATER AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this one going to work! ?

- Answer Hello Speedy, Thank you for your question. New washers all use less water to comply with federal guidelines. However, some of the benefits of this model are as follows: ~Traditional agitator ~You have the option to control the load size ~You can select a deep rinse (which you will need) ~And, the best thing is you have a deep fill option. There are two ways Deep Fill can be used: •Add a little more water: Press the Deep Fill button once before starting the cycle to add 3 gallons of water to the wash load. Once the washer has stopped filling, you can press it again to add 3 more gallons. •Full Tub Fill: Press and hold Deep Fill button for 3 seconds to fill the washer to the maximum water level. QuestionIs this machine an HE or aggitator style?

- Answer Hello, This model does have a dual action agitator. It provides better circulation and turnover of clothes than the flexcare agitator. The top half operates independent of the bottom half to help drive the clothes down into the water. The top 1/2 of the agitator rides on lubricated nylon bearings.

This selection automatically provides the correct amount of water suited to the size and type of load placed in the unit so no water is wasted. It also features our popular Deep Fill option. Select the Deep Fill feature for loads where extra water is needed. Press the Deep Fill button once before starting the cycle to add an incremental amount of water to the wash load. Holding the Deep Fill button for 3 seconds will provide the deepest fill level possible. The Deep Fill button can also be pressed after the washer has completed filling and is in the wash phase if additional water is desired. - Answer NO! This washer is very quiet. Unless you are standing quite close to it, you wouldn't know it was on. My laundry room is right nest to my kitchen perhaps 10 feet from my sink to the washer and I do not hear it at ll.

- Answer There are several temperature selections for the wash cycle. But it says right on the machine "all cold water rinse".

QuestionHey, how do you run a spin cycle ONLY??? The last few times ive run my machine it isnt spinning enough to get rid of excess water in the items. I'd like to spin only and not refill and go thru the entire wash cycle again. Help. Thanks!!!

- Answer Hi Tam- We suggest to choose the Drain & Spin cycle to get rid of the excess water in items. You can also use the Options knob to choose "Extra Spin" with a wash cycle. QuestionPlease clarify how full the machine can fill. One answer indicates the machine will not fill all the way even using the deep fill button. Someone also said the videos are of previous models that fill better. I want to control the amount of water.

Therefore, you may notice that your washer fills with less water than your prior model did. This is normal. GE Appliances washers are designed for and are thoroughly tested using modern water levels and will provide the exceptional cleaning you have come to expect from GE Appliances. The washer features Precise Fill. This design automatically provides the correct amount of water suited to the size and type of load placed in the unit. It also features Deep Fill option that adds additional water to the wash load. On Energy Star models with this option: Deep Fill is available on all wash cycles except the Normal/Colors cycle due to 2016 Department of Energy regulations. Add a little more water: Press the Deep Fill button once before starting the cycle to add 3 gallons of water to the wash load.
