Hi Mythreesons3 - This washer allows you to manually select Low, Medium, High or Max water levels for maximum cleaning performance. Additional water cannot be added. It also has Precise Fill option. When selected, the washer senses the load size and adds just the right amount of water for the load. See page 8 of the Use and Care Guide- (C) Load Size: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576-3.pdf - You can choose the Deep Rinse option to ensure clothes are rinsed free of detergent, fabric softener and stubborn soils. Play Video: https://www.youtube.com/embed/fbkVOdkZJ5E?rel=0 - The Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Most washers are now programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount of water used will vary. It is not recommended to manually add more water to the washer. Some models have a Deep Fill option which adds additional water to the wash load, regardless of whether you used a manual or a load-sensing fill. Keep in touch! Sue
