“Hi! I just got my new washer. I’m so worried about the water that Sits under the drum. If you wiggle the Drum you can hear it. I had another Washer that did that And it always smelled so bad because the Water sat there and got moldy. Thank you”

Hi Damom44 - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE! We are happy to address your concern with the water. The washer has a balance ring that allows smooth operation and prevents the washer from knocking or walking. The balance ring is an enclosed plastic container that is partially filled with a salt water solution. The two halves of the balance ring are welded together to form a permanent seal. It is attached to the inner clothes basket and allows the basket to spin smoothly if an uneven load creates an out-of-balance situation.
