Hi JSwitzer - Thanks for reaching out to us and for sharing your concern regarding the drain hose design. To be confident that no siphoning of water will take place, the drain plumbing should be a minimum of 30" high and less than 8 feet high. If drain is not 30" high, we have packed with new washers, in the installation package, an anti-siphon clip that attaches to the hose and the back of the washer to lift the drain hose up higher.
