• Hi Bonnie - Thank you for your inquiry on this GE model washer. If you have the need to stop the washer to balance a load, simply press the Start/Pause pad one time. Open the lid, balance the load and you can then close the lid ands press the Start/Pause pad one time again to restart the machine right where it was in the cycle.
