Yes, this has an agitator and a fabric softener dispenser in the top of the agitator. I love this washer, you can adjust the water level. I Purchased a whirlpool two weeks before I purchased this one and returned it because the water level never came up over the clothes and it had no agitator and no softener dispenser. I would highly recommend this washer
